APPLICATION FEES

The online application fee is Rs. 500/- 

 Please note the above fees are non-refundable and the offer of admission will be based on merit and the number of seats available. 

 

 

 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION TO THE TWO YEARS MASTERS PROGRAM IN LIFE SCIENCE (BY PAPERS):

A learner who has passed the B.Sc. degree of the University of Mumbai or of another University recognized as equivalent thereto with the following combinations of subjects, (as mentioned below), will be eligible for admission to the M.Sc. degree course by papers in Life Science offered by St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, as explained in the VCD No. PG/ Univ./VCD/ ICC / 2012-13/ 8.:

The Bachelor's degree in the Faculty of Science in the subjects of 

  1. Life Sciences 
  2. Botany 
  3. Zoology 
  4. Microbiology 
  5. Biochemistry 
  6. Applied or Allied Biological Sciences of the University of Mumbai University or equivalent degree of recognized Universities.

OR

7. The Bachelor's degree in the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Mumbai University or of recognized Universities.

OR

8.The Bachelor's degree in the Faculty of Technology / Faculty of Science of the University of Mumbai University or of recognized Universities with the background of courses in Life Sciences.

OR

9. The Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or Veterinary Sciences of the University of Mumbai University or equivalent degree of recognized Universities.

 

Process of admission:

  1. Eligible students are required to fill up details as required in the form provided by St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai.
  2. Merit list will be displayed on the college website for applicants.
  3. Admission will be given as per merit list only, in all applicable categories, as prescribed by the UGC from time to time.
  4. Wait list, if any, will be displayed on the college website.
  5. Admission will be confirmed only after verification of data provided by the applicants and on payment of fees.

 

KINDLY NOTE:

  • If relevant proofs are not provided, candidature will be cancelled.
  • Marks of only the core courses will be considered for the merit list. Applied component marks will not be considered.
  • Reservation policy for admission is as per rules governing minority college and as prescribed by the UGC from time to time.
  • For any queries / clarification, please visit the Vice Principal (Science) only with a prior appointment.

 

 

CREATION OF THE ACADEMIC BANK OF CREDITS (ABC) ID

As per the guidelines by UGC and the University of Mumbai (please refer to the circular in the downloads below), students are requested to provide their ABC ID to the college at the time of admission. 

 

To facilitate the creation of the same in case you do not have one, please follow the steps mentioned below.

You can create your ABC ID using following any one method between Option A or Option B as per the steps given. 

 

OPTION A:

  • Website: www.abc.gov.in,
  • Visit  www.abc.gov.in
  • Click on my account: student
  • For new users – Click “sign up for “ Meri Pehchan”
  • Enter your Mobile Number, you will get OTP on your Registered Mobile No.
  • Fill in all necessary details and click on verify
  • Students will get ABC ID.

 

OPTION B:

  • www.digilocker.gov. in
  • Sign in to Digi Locker by visiting  www.digilocker.gov.in (can be done using Mobile or Aadhar)
  • Go to Search Documents
  • Go to Education Section
  • Search for the ABC ID widget
  • Click on the widget to generate and download ABC ID
  • Students will get ABC ID

THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE YOUR APPLICATION FORM: 

  1. Student Photo & Signature (in jpg format only)
  2. Aadhar Card(scan of both the Front & Back will be required)
  3. Mark sheets
  4. Domicile Certificate (If Applicable)
  5. Baptism Certificate (If Applicable)
  6. SWD Proof (Student with Disabilities) (If Applicable)

Please note Soft copy of the above-mentioned documents should not exceed the file size of 2MB.
